Peace Officers Memorial Day Ceremony May 15, 2024

Please join us on the morning of Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 7am for a wreath laying ceremony in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. The Ceremony will begin on the lawn of City Hall with the recitation of a proclamation in honor of our fallen officers and the lowering of the American Flag to half-staff. Our Honor Guard will then carry the wreath to our Fallen Officers Memorial where we will hold a moment of silence in remembrance of Sgt. Freddie Harp, Ofc. George Herring, and Ofc. Theron Houlditch. The events that occurred this week in Charlotte, NC remind us of the dangers we face in Law Enforcement every day. In moments such as these, we are especially grateful for the overwhelming support we receive from this great community. Your presence at this wreath laying ceremony will be welcomed and appreciated by our entire department.
