Amwaste - Important Information

Beginning Saturday, October 1, Amwaste will begin solid waste and recycling collection service at your residence.

• Monday is the 1st pick up day of the week, but if you are a Saturday pick up, service will start tomorrow, October 1. This will be considered your 2nd pick up of the week. Old garbage cans should have a note on them asking the driver to remove and they should be put out the 2nd pick up of any week.
• If you experience issues with your Amwaste service, enter a complaint at www.mtnbrook.org and click on the Amwaste Garbage Truck tab.
• Route times are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Route trucks service one side of the street at a time, and depending on the area and routing, it may be hours before the other side of the street is serviced. 
• New backdoor service requests will take 3 business days to process and begin service from the date of sign-up. 
• Backdoor services are completed by the satellite trucks and not by the primary route truck. 
• For backdoor service, the driver needs to see the can near the house when he pulls in the driveway.
• Boxes should be broken down and put in the can or on the ground beside the can.

Mountain Brook AL Route Finder: To find your scheduled pickup days, click the Mtn Brook AL Route Finder and type your address in the red search bar. When map pulls up there will be a red dot on your address. If you have not received your new garbage cart, you can request one under the Amwaste black garbage truck icon on the city website. Along with the cart should be a 1-page flyer with information about the new service.  Your scheduled pickup days are highlighted in black at the top of the flyer.  

Amwaste will remove the old garbage cans and recycling bins on the 2nd pickup of the week. Tape a note to the containers asking the driver to remove. 

Billing for backdoor pickup starts 10.1.22. Check your emails from Amwaste for billing information and how to set up an account for payment.

Backdoor collection will no longer be a standard service provided. However, the service will be offered on an elective subscription basis paid quarterly by the homeowner. The cost of backdoor collection will be $33.72 quarterly (*to be indexed for inflation effective October 1, 2022) and will be billed directly by Amwaste. If you would like to register your home for backdoor collection, click the Amwaste black garbage truck tab on our main website page.  Please input all requested information and respond to the drop-down questions to register your account.  You will receive a response email when successful registration has been completed.    Please note this information will in no way be distributed and will only be used for set-up of your new Amwaste account and routing of services to begin October 1.
