Amwaste has provided guidelines for the following: can placement, curb and backdoor pickup, acceptable and not acceptable items for pickup

Acceptable items for weekly scheduled household collection:
- Customary household food, drink, and waste remnants, containers, and packing
- Customary bathroom remnants and packaging
- Containerized broken glass
- Broken down moving boxes
- Bagged packing materials
- Alkaline, manganese, and carbon zinc batteries
- Household volume of fluorescent light bulbs
- Household volume of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers
- Small furniture items
- Less than two cubic yards of limbs, bagged leaves and/or grass.
Acceptable items for weekly boom collection service:
- Limbs no longer than 6’ in length and no greater than 6” in diameter.
- Greater than 10 bags of leaves, grass, or other vegetative debris.
- Large furniture items
- Mattresses and box springs
- Appliances (Any appliances containing freon requires a freon removal tag by a certified technician)
Not acceptable items for collection:
- Construction debris
- Contractor generated debris piles
- Cynder blocks, tile, bricks, or concrete
- Piles of dirt
- Tires
- Car batteries
- Lithium ion batteries
- Large vehicle parts such as engines, rotors, bumpers, side panels, ets.
- Landscape or railroad cross-ties
- More than household amounts of hazardous waste
- Non-solidified paint containers (lids are to be left off for review)
- Pool chemicals
- Medical waste to include sharps and needles
- Animal carcasses
