Jefferson County EMA Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Survey Now Open

Jefferson County Emergency Management is currently in the process of updating their Hazard Mitigation Plan. The local Hazard Mitigation Plan is the representation of the jurisdictions commitment to reduce risks from natural hazards, serving as a guide for decision makers as they commit resources to reducing the effects of hazards.  The Hazard Mitigation Plan also serves as a basis to prioritize potential grant funding in the future.

An important aspect of the plan includes public engagement. Due to the pandemic, the JCEMA has created a public survey that will allow them to collect important input from the public. The information collected will allow them to get a better idea on how the public prepares, mitigates, and assesses risk on potential hazards within the county, which will allow the Jefferson County EMA to develop projects to build a more resilient community.

You are encouraged to take 5-7 minutes to complete the survey. All residents within Jefferson County are eligible to take the survey. The survey can be accessed here: https://arcg.is/0j1eH1  as well as on the homepage of our website jeffcoema.org
