Spire Pipeline Replacement Project

Spire Pipeline Replacement Project- Shades Creek Parkway

Spire will start work on the Shades Creek pipeline replacement project on September 22, 2020. SEC will start on the east end of the project near Overhill Road and work back towards the west.  The dual mains will cross under Watkins Branch to the northeast of Cahaba Road. This section of main installation should take around 4 – 5 weeks to complete. Crews will begin work after 8:30 am and end no later than 4:30 pm.  The main should be installed outside of the road way along this area. However, one lane of traffic may need to be shut down due to equipment along the road way.

Spire Replacement Project - Gaines Mill Rd

A second phase of this project is expected to start on October 19, at the intersection of Kennesaw Drive and Fair Oaks Drive and continue along Gaines Mill Road, Pine Mountain Road, Fredericksburg Drive, Corinth Drive, Chickamauga Road and Gaines Mill Circle. While this project requires crews to dig in the streets, and in some cases yards, Spire is focused on ensuring they perform work safely and efficiently. By working between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and practicing control measures to ensure traffic flows as smoothly as possible, they plan to avoid contributing to rush-hour delays. The city encourages motorists to drive with caution through these work areas.

Spire Replacement Project - Sheridan Drive

Work will be between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays with control measures in place for traffic flow. The city encourages motorists to drive with caution through these work areas.
