About Lieutenant Jason Rhoads

Lieutenant Rhoads - Mountain Brook Police Department Patrol Div

Lieutenant Rhoads is the commander of the Patrol Division; the agency's largest division. Lieutenant Jason Rhoads began his career in law enforcement with the Mountain Brook Police Department after graduating from the Tuscaloosa Police Academy in 2002. Across Rhoads’ nearly 20-year career in the field of law enforcement, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.  Prior to being assigned to the Patrol Division, he commanded the Criminal Investigations Division, the Department’s primary investigative arm.

Lieutenant Rhoads was named “Officer of the Year” twice - once in 2009 and again in 2011. Rhoads has been involved in several units and specialty positions within the department including the Tactical Operations Unit, Motor Scout Unit, and Field Training Officer Program. He is also a recipient of the FBI L.E.E.D.A Trilogy Award.

Rhoads is a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served from 1993-2001.

Lieutenant Rhoads is an alumnus of Harold Washington College in Chicago, IL where he majored in Criminal Justice.
