Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is the largest of the three divisions and the first responders of the Department. This division has officers assigned to proactively patrol the community to deter and detect crime and to be available to assist citizens whenever the need arises. The Motorcycle Unit, Parking Control Officer, Animal Control Officer, Tactical Team and all jail operations are staffed and operated from this division. The goal of the patrol division is to provide the highest level of service for all persons who live, work, or travel through the City of Mountain Brook.
Lieutenant Rhoads is the commander of the Patrol Division; the agency's largest division. Lieutenant Jason Rhoads began his career in law enforcement with the Mountain Brook Police Department after graduating from the Tuscaloosa Police Academy in 2002. Across Rhoads’ nearly 20-year career in the field of law enforcement, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Prior to being assigned to the Patrol Division, he commanded the Criminal Investigations Division, the Department’s primary investigative arm.
