Upcoming Events with MBPD
One of the most notable things about working for the Mountain Brook Police Department is the community's embrace and support. MBPD hosts a variety of events and training seminars that are of value to the citizens and patrons. Through these events, we are able to engage, educate, and inform. Residents also have the luxury of being notified of events and police activity from our "Mountain Brook Police" Smart Phone App. The app is free and compatible on both iOS and Android devices.
Please join us on the morning of Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 7am for a wreath laying ceremony in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. The Ceremony will begin on the lawn of City Hall with the recitation of a proclamation in honor of our fallen officers and the lowering of the American Flag to half-staff. Our Honor Guard will then carry the wreath to our Fallen Officers Memorial where we will hold a moment of silence in remembrance of Sgt. Freddie Harp, Ofc. George Herring, and Ofc. Theron Houlditch.
Join us on Saturday, May 18th at 8AM for the Birmingham leg of Walk Like MADD. We proudly partner with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to raise awareness. According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, there were 198 traffic fatalities with apparent alcohol or drug involvement in 2022. Always remember that ride-share services are mere clicks away! Help us make the roadways of Alabama safer for everyone!
