Register Your Yard or Business as a Monarch Waystation

Monarch Waystations provide native milkweeds, native nectar plants, and shelter for monarchs throughout their annual cycle of reproduction and migration. 

The city of Mountain Brook was certified in 2023 as a Monarch Waystation, after native Swamp Milkweed was established in the city hall native plant pollinator garden.   It was fascinating to watch the monarch butterflies arrive, as if on cue, to deposit their eggs on the milkweed... and then everyone waited and watched as the eggs became beautiful caterpillars.
