Spring

Don't Tidy Up Just Yet

Okay, okay... spring is ALMOST here!  But please refrain until mid-April from the almost overwhelming urge to tidy up the garden!  Pollinator larva are still right beneath the surface in leaf litter and in the soil... they are also residing in those dried stems of last summer's dormant forbs!  Wait till these pollinators emerge and  it is consistently at least 50 degrees (day and night) before you clean up!

Also, please let the dandelions and clovers in your newly come-to-life lawns remain until the end of April if you can!  These "weeds" provide important first-foods for the early pollinators!  Join the No Mow May movement if you can (or more like No-Mow-April here in Alabama!)...
